16th Maritime Security & Costal Surveillance Event
December 2, 2019 - December 5, 2019
Today’s maritime security needs have become highly sophisticated and multi-dimensional with the exponential rise in maritime terrorism, drug trafficking, piracy and other non-traditional seaborne attacks. Technological advancements and modernisation are also shaping governments’ spend in the maritime defence and security sector. World military expenditure was $1.8 trillion in 2018, representing a 2.6% increase from 2017 according to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. The global market for new procurement of military platforms will be worth US$838 billion by 2029.
Following years of continuous success, the 16th Maritime Security & Coastal Surveillance 2019 will once again bring together 200+ senior officers from regional navies, air forces, coast guards, academics and members of the defence industry, all of whom have a vested interest in bolstering maritime security for the region. They will share in-depth analysis of the latest developments in the region as well as operational challenges and strategies pertaining to maritime security and coastal surveillance from their country/agency’s perspective including:
- Strategies For Addressing Multi-Dimensional Defence Needs Today
- How Digitalisation is Shaking Up Maritime Security and Operational Effectiveness
