Customs and marine join efforts

Cameroon’s navy will henceforth protect and transport custom officers during their operations at sea. The terms of the joint operations were spelt out in a convention signed on Tuesday 11th August 2015 in Yaounde between the Minister of Finance, Alamine Ousmane Mey and the Minister delegate at the Presidency in charge of defence, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o.

The joint convention will help to tackle criminal cases on the country’s waterways, increase maritime security, protect customs activities and ensure peace and stability on Cameroon’s territorial waters.
