Defence Commitment

Estonia will keep its forces in the fight against piracy and other global struggles at the same levels next year while adding reinforcements to several other units.

Under a new draft legal act authored by the Defense Ministry, over 200 members of the defense forces will serve on foreign missions in 2012.

Estonia will continue its participation in Atalanta, the EU’s anti-piracy mission serving off the coast of Somalia.
