Tanker missing after hijack

ReCAAP reports that the MT Rehobot was hijacked by eight armed pirates on January 28th at around 2330 LT. According to their report, eight pirates armed with long knives approached the ship and took control of her in the vicinity of the Lembeh Islands, Indonesia. The Rehobot was carrying 1100 tons of diesel at the time of its hijacking.

The 14 Indonesian crew were found in life rafts on January 31st near Lembeh Island but the tanker remains unaccounted for and searches are ongoing.
